“This is a revelation!” announced Rev. Fr. Isidro “Ed” Rodriquez, Prefect of Discipline, in his closing remarks during the recently concluded Academic Week of the seminarians at the Immaculate Conception Minor Seminary in Guiguinto, Bulacan. For Fr. Ed, as well as school mentors - Sr. Domiciana M. Tenorio, Principal; Sr. Eliza D. Fausto, Religion and Values Ed. Teacher; and the teachers of the institution - the presentation of the students on Nov. 21, 2009 truly surprised them all. In fact, they were amazed by the confidence, eloquence, and skills manifested by the students.
“In all the five years that we have been doing this English part of the Academic Week, this is the first time that we have been so impressed with the public speaking skills of these students,” remarked Fr. Ed as he acknowledged Ms. Sheila Viesca, Director of TalkShop for unleashing the hidden talents of the students. The eight-Saturday trainings provided by Ms. Viesca, assisted by consultant Ms. Cecile Matulac, greatly improved the speaking and presentation skills of the seminarians, which in turn, boosted their confidence.“More power to TalkShop,” greeted Sr. Eliza. “We hope to work with you again in endeavors such as this.”
