To enhance the quality of service of its personnel, the Makati City Government sponsored a refresher workshop “ Business English” for its employees, mostly candidates for promotion. This was held on March 15-19, 2010 at the Human Resource Development division of the Makati City Hall.
Aware of the need for continuous improvement to upgrade its services, Councilor Jejomar Erwin S. Binay, Jr. concedes that “ having a third party affords us with an objective view as to how we can further improve our services. TalkShop recognized these needs, came up with a program, and implemented one that integrated all language skills , upgrading the level of professionalism of Makati City Hall employees.”
Employees found the workshop unique and refreshing , having experienced Integrated Language Teaching (ILT), a teaching style pioneered in the Philippines by Sheila Viesca, TalkShop CEO. This infuses the teaching style of the West that is interactive and communicative with the learning style of the East that is traditional and creative.
